Bettah Mus’ Come is a poetry collection of testimony and defiance from a Black Jamaican disabled woman who refuses to live within anyone else’s definition of her life. Moving through body, desire, society, and inheritance, these poems name the forces that try to shrink us—ableism, racism, misogyny—while lingering in the intimate spaces where those pressures land. Tender and unflinching, the voice holds rage and humor, lust and faith, grief and joy in the same breath, becoming both witness and invitation for anyone who has been underestimated to lean closer, see more clearly, and remember their power to resist, to love, and to change what they can.
